“Engage with Body Wisdom” is a transformative trauma-sensitive yoga workshop taught by Emily Shindledecker with support from Elizabeth Brunson Counseling PLLC. This inclusive Yin yoga class welcomes all bodies and levels of practice into a compassionate and supportive space.
In this workshop, you will be invited to remember and reconnect with the inherent wisdom your body carries. Emily, our experienced instructor, will guide you through a series of postures, breath-work, and meditation techniques designed to enhance your natural ability to communicate your body’s wisdom and your subconscious mind’s messages to your conscious awareness.
Yoga, when used as a healing method, works at a cellular level. Through time spent in stillness, our healing efforts extend outward, impacting the nervous system and fascia. During this workshop, we will focus our attention on these areas to experience healing on physical, emotional, and energetic levels. Our bodies and minds possess an intrinsic capacity to heal; by embracing active rest and conscious relaxation, we can amplify our intention to feel and truly be better.
Practice together in a safe space where we courageously prioritize our wellness by gently caring for our bodies. “Engage with Body Wisdom” is trauma-informed, utilizing language that offers invitations into poses with many options, allowing you to determine what best suits your body in each moment. This approach empowers you to direct your own practice experience, attuned to your body’s unique wants and needs.
